Glensound Announces Adoption of the Dante Networking Solution from Audinate at BVE North 2013

Portland, OR-Manchester, England-November 13, 2013-The decision about which network audio system to offer has been a topic under review at Glensound for nearly 2 years now.  In the end, it was a straight-forward decision. The plug and play nature of Dante, the use of standard network switches, combined with Dante’s proven reliability, are all traits aligned with the philosophy of Glensound.  Glensound has therefore chosen to incorporate Audinate’s Dante digital media networking solution into its next generation of broadcast products.

Built on existing networking protocols and standards, Audinate’s Dante technology is a plug-and-play networking solution which delivers ultra-low latency, tightly synchronized media, while simplifying installation and configuration of digital media networks. Dante has been adopted by more than 115 OEMs, with hundreds of products available on the market. Dante has become the digital media networking solution of choice for broadcasting, commercial installations, sound reinforcement systems, and public address markets due to its superior performance.

Glensound are well known for digital commentary systems, mixing desks, 4 wire systems, and recently digital audio snakes.  These are all areas where a Dante interface can offer outstanding opportunities.

“Glensound has been providing amazing products for the broadcast industry for over 40 years,” says Lee Ellison, CEO of Audinate. “They clearly recognize that networking matters. Selecting Dante for its next generation of products means that Glensound customers can look forward to the most interoperable digital media solution today and into the future.”

Glensound Managing Director Gavin Davis is looking forward to the potential the Dante system will offer. “After looking at competing technologies, the Dante system was the one that stood out.  The user simplicity and proven reliability is what our customers expect.  In our early stages of integration, we are very pleased with the progress being made, and we look forward to announcing new products at NAB 2014.”

Glensound’s next generation of Dante compatible products are expected to be launched at NAB 2014.
